Badam Katli !! Quicky Version

Badam katli is an exotic and easy dessert that can be made with just few ingredients. Almonds not only taste good but also are loaded with many health benefits.They aid in reducing cholestrol and also are rich in unsaturated fatty acids,filling fibre,antioxidants and plant protein too.

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups / 180 gm Ground Almonds
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Rose water(optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Saffron

Method :

  • Mix ground almonds and milk without any lumps. I have pulsed both the almond meal and milk in mixer for couple of times.
  • Heat a non stick pan add ghee. Once melted add the almonds paste, powdered sugar and mix well.
  • In just in a couple of minutes the sugar melts and turns liquidy. Now add the rose water and saffron.
  • Mix well, continue to Cook on low to medium heat until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. It took around 12 minutes for me.
  • Scoop the cooked mixture on to a greased plate and allow it to cool a bit.
  • Lightly grease the parchment paper and rolling pin.
  • Shape the mixture into 0.5 mm thick rectangle. Cut it into desired shapes or diagonally
  • Cool them completely to room temperature.
  • Simple, exotic and flavorful Badam katli to awaken your senses. Make and enjoy


My Tip:
I used store bought ground almonds but one can always substitute it for whole almonds. Just soak 1 cup of them in enough water for 2 hours. Peel the skin and grind into a coarse paste(resembling semolina) using milk.
