Kabuli Chana Pulav !!!

Kabuli Chana Pulav exactly fits into that genre..
Kabuli chana / Garbanzo beans are loaded with both soluble n insoluble fibres , high in protein n magnesium levels . These beans induces feelings of satiety, there by cutting down the intake of unwanted calories and keeping your appetite under control..so a clever option for weight watchers too .. :) :)


Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups : Raw rice washed n cooked
  • 1 can : Garbanzo beans  or 1/2 cup Dry beans soaked n boiled..
  • 2 tbsp : Oil 
  • 1 onion : chopped
  • 1 tomato : finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp : tomato paste( i used store bought ..u can substitute it with puree of a tomato as well)
  • 1/2 tsp : Cumin seeds
  • An inch piece : Cinnamon stick
  • 2 nos: Cardamom pods
  • 3 nos: Coves
  • 1 tbsp : Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 nos: Slit Green chilli
  • 1 tsp : Red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp : Chole masala
  • 1/2 tsp : Amchoor powder
  • Few sprigs Cilantro/Coriander leaves chopped
Method :

  • In a pan add oil once hot add cumin , allow them to pop..
  • Next add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and green chilli ..saute a min or two..
  • Later stir in the chopped onions n let them sweat ...
  • Next add in the chopped tomatoes n its paste/puree...saute this until the tomatoes dry out ...
  • Now add in the dry masalas along with salt n fry for a min or two..
  • Next stir in the boiled garbanzo beans ..n give it a good mix...
  • Now add the cooked rice ...stir well until the rice is nicely coated with the garbanzo masala...
  • Sprinkle the chopped cilantro leaves..stir ..
  • Check n adjust the seasoning..
  • Kabuli chana pulav is ready to serve hot with cold raita of u r choice ...
