Instant Poha Idli !!!No fermentation !!!

Yes ladies u read it right...i am talking about Instant idlies made with poha n rice rawa...and its a no fermentation batter...
    For any south Indian a true bliss is to have dosa or idli for breakfast but with this freezing cold winters fermenting the batter is pain in the neck...sometimes nothing works like keeping mear heaters ...placing in the oven with light on those times these types are the best alternatives...they turn out real soft n fluffy that will definetely amaze you !!!
Many of them have asked for easy breakfast recipes so iam trying to make n post as many as i heading towards its procedure...

Ingredients :
  • 1 1/2 cup Rice rawa / Idli rawa
  • 1 cup rice flakes / poha thin variety
  • 1 cup sour curd / butter milk
  • A pinch baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • water as required
* If u r curd / buttermilk is not sour , substitute soda with 1 tsp Eno fruit salt...soda needs some sourness inorder to get activated and if the curd is not sour this might not suggested fruit salt....

Method :
  • Wash n soak rice flakes in curd/ buttermilk for 5 to 10 mins we are using the thin variety it becomes soft n mushy in no time..
  • Add the idli rawa , soda/fruit salt and salt to the poha mix...
  • Stir well n allow it to stand for 20 that rawa absorbs all the moisture n turns soft...
  • Later adjust the consitency adding enough water to that of a thick idli batter..
  • As its no fermentation batter u can grease the idli plates n steam idlis like regular ones..
  • Once done remove/ scoop out n serve with  coconut chutney/ karam podi / sambhar...tastes great with any...
The soft n fluffy interiors !!!
