Besan ka Halwa !!!
Besan halwa is one of the easy make ahead desserts made with minimal ingredients lying in our kitchen cabinets..
Its my mommy dear's recipe that i always cherish to make..
During my childhood this was the one sweet i loved to eat any time of the year , it might be weekend , a holiday , Birthday or just at the time when we crave for something sweet ...
So without any delay heading to its procedure...
- 1 cup Besan
- 1/2 cup oil n ghee mix together
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup hot milk
- 1 tsp cardomom powder
- 1 tbsp chopped n fried nuts of choice
Firstly heat up the milk n keep aside..
Now in a non stick pan / kadai add the ghee n oil mix...once its warm add the besan n start frying on medium flame...
Check the consistency if its thick n hard to roast add in a couple of tablespoons of oil or ghee to it..
Just keep in mind that the mix has to be loose or else its difficult to roast..

Patience is virtue here...so be patient n roast perfectly for perfect halwa..
(If its not roasted well it will turn out gooey n slimy...)
After a while ,You will notice the mixture turning a little frothy on the top..
This is the clear indication that its roasted to perfection...
Now simmer the flame to low n add the hot milk slowly n keep stirring..it will splutter a bit so be careful..
(If the milk has cooled a bit reheat it...milk has to be hot not warm )
Mix it thouroughly ...once mixed, add in the sugar , nuts and cardomom powder..
Stir well n cook on medium flame until sugar is melted n well incorporated..

Now leave it for a couple of mins n later turn off the heat...
The delicious n mouth melting Besan ka Halwa is all ready to serve ...
